Auto Transport

Auto transport is usually used to transport car cross country, however, as the number of cars sold on the internet is growing, and as different ways of payments are being used to purchase cars from dealers or private sellers all across the country, the auto transport industry has taken advantage of this growth and started offering auto transport services between neighboring states and even cities.

Car buyers have noticed the trend and started using auto transport instead of driving their cars, and therefore the service of auto transport are not just monopolized by cross country service user but rather by anyone needing an auto transport service.

Delays occasionally happen when transporting autos cross country, usually the estimated time of arrival for a cross country auto transport trip is 10 to 14 days, but in the winter times it may take more that the estimated travel time : snow falls could hamper the transporting truck and special chained wheels are used to get across difficult icy road ways, summer time could be challenging for cross country auto transporters coming to the eastern part of the country and specially the lower eastern states and that is because of the hurricanes that tend to hit these areas, that cause flood and gutsy wind.

Wild fires as seen in California result in road blockage. And therefore delays of the pick up or deliveries of the cars being transported.

Mechanical issues are another reason why auto transporters do not make it always on time, as parts for the auto transporting truck are expensive to fix and replace, and because they need professional installation trucker get stuck in rest areas waiting for parts or mechanical help to arrive to their rescue in order for them to carry on with their trips.

Sometime certain customer cancel their reservation for auto transport, thus the trucker have to wait and try to secure a full load to insure a profitable trip cross country, because doing a cross country auto transport trip with a truck that is not full hurts the driver when it comes to the cost verses profit equation, and that is because of all the coast associated with the auto transport industry and the challenges it carries.
